LC Call Number Extractor / Parser - Beta

Description: Converts a list of LC Call Numbers into comma separated value format. Allows for easy import into Word merge files for label printing.

Example:

GT2345.S35 2005    will be converted to    GT,2345,.S35,,2005,

which can be formatted in a Word merge file and printed out line by line to make spine labels. For information on how to use Word mail merge to create labels, see Demo: Create a set of labels with mail merge.

Instructions: Copy and paste lines of LC call numbers or text containing LC call numbers in the box below and click 'Go'. The next screen will show the output in text format which can be copied and pasted into a plain text file; save the file with a .csv extension (e.g., callnos.csv). Call numbers must contain an LC class number followed by a Cutter number. Optional: a second Cutter, publication year (must be preceded by a space), copy or volume number (e.g., c.2, v.1, vol.7).
